The Sun Is You Are One: Guided Meditation (4 Minutes)

In this 4-minute guided meditation, you begin resting peacefully on a smooth, flat rock…on a lush, green mountaintop. Use the recording or, if you’re leading a meditation, you can read it yourself using the transcript below.

The Sun Is You Are One

Close your eyes.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.

Relax into this space. It is you, and it is yours.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.

A light breeze blows across your skin.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.

You are resting peacefully on a smooth, flat rock…on a lush, green mountaintop…so high above the trees that all you can see is the bright, blue sky.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.

In the deep of the bright blue sky before you, a yellow dot appears.

You watch as the dot grows bigger, filling the sky and radiating a glow that gently warms your skin.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.

There you are, face-to-face with the sun.

Only…you can see yourself in it, like you have never seen yourself before.

In your reflection – there in the sun – your eyes are butterflies, violet wings lined with silver.

Your lips are the wings of a cardinal spread into a smile.

Your cheeks are pink roses.

Your nose, a rose petal.

And your ears fine leaves of gold.

The sun is alive with you.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.

You hear the flutter of your butterfly eyes.

You smell the sweet flush of your rosy-pink cheeks.

You feel the flight of your mouth with every beat of its wings.

Your skin grows warmer as the sun moves closer – so close that your faces touch.

The sun is you are one.

Breathe it in.

Breathe it out.

The sun is you are one.

It is still, and it is quiet.

Open your eyes, remembering the sun goes with you when you rise.

The sun is you are one.
